Used it as a work bakkie for a while. Was a 160 carb model. Cream.... Stupid on fuel (7km/litre). So I figured what if I changed the motor to a FE? Should bolt right on as the 1.6 was a F6 block. Only used the 1.6 flywheel and clutch and the whole lot bolted into place. Phoenix 3D sequential fuel injection system, and voila! 12km/litre.

Then I tried to make it look better and sprayed her purple on top with white at the bottom and fiddled with the head a bit.... Solid lifters and a cut cam and up the rev limiter a tad. Niiiiicccceee.

Nope, sorry. Took it appart after a sideshaft mishap at Tarlton... Doing a few major upgrades. Bigger Volvo S40 T4 brake discs in front, bracing, button clutch, and then the motor...... You know that its not possible to fit a 16v head to a 2.2 F2 block, right?

I found one that can. Only two were ever modified to successfully fit a 16v head. The other one was fitted to Lima's old blue 1400 Datsun... All the internals are proper 2.2 parts and was balanced by Full Race. Now for assembly. Then photos!

Awesome! Welcome to the club m8. Hope to see you around tarlton soon again! If you ever spot some crazy mazda drivers there come say hi! Also check out the events section and join us on a brekkie run or two once the bakkie is fixed. There would be a few guys keen to see under that bonnet ;P

Sweeeeet!!!! So I read this, and i'm interested.

So I figured what if I changed the motor to a FE? Should bolt right on as the 1.6 was a F6 block. Only used the 1.6 flywheel and clutch and the whole lot bolted into place. Phoenix 3D sequential fuel injection system, and voila! 12km/litre.

No one ever spells it out as this simple.

Thats what I have been saying all along. Your car can easily take a FE!

ECU is custom aftermarket setup which you install totally yourself or have put in. Will be about 5-6k installed and tuned for a spitronics or dicktator.

Maybe not soooo much. A while ago I got quoted R4000 for a standard Dicktator. Fitted, tuned and dyno'd
